“Everyone has the right to freedom of expression; this right includes the freedom to express opinions undisputed and to seek, receive and disseminate information and ideas using any means of communication, regardless of borders. ” — Article 19 of the United Nations “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” (December 1948)

Where independent reporting is not allowed and where people cannot freely express their opinions, other human rights are also violated. The freedom to inform and be informed is therefore always a reliable indicator of democratic conditions in a country. The exhibition would like to emphasize the particular importance of independent media for a plural and free society and point out that freedom of the press is not self-evident, but a valuable asset that must be protected.

Reporters Without Borders documents violations of press and information freedom worldwide and informs the public when journalists and their employees are in danger. Reporters Without Borders fights against censorship and restrictive media laws online and offline. There is at Reporters Without Borders emergency aid for persecuted journalists and families. The aim is to help the persecuted so that they can continue or resume their journalistic work.

The association founded in Berlin in 1994 Reporters Without Borders e.V. is part of the international organization founded in 1985 Reporters sans frontiers headquartered in Paris. Published since the founding year Reporters Without Borders Always on May 3, International Press Freedom Day, the volume “Photos for Press Freedom”. Internationally renowned photographers make their work available, and the proceeds finance the independent association. 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of the German section and the photo book.

The 2024 photo book will be published on May 3 and can be ordered here: shop.reporter-ohne-grenzen.de

The exhibition in the museum Center for Persecuted Arts highlights how important support is for journalists at risk. In addition to all 30 volumes in the “Photos for Press Freedom” series, a historical section with objects from the museum's collection shows how artists are campaigning against censorship and for freedom of expression, including against murderous regimes. In the main part of the exhibition, current works by six international photographers reflect the struggle for truth in word and image. Her work comes from various editions of “Photos for Press Freedom.”

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
