2025 school competition

For the second time, a school competition will start on March 6, 2025, which the Sponsors' Association #Wir_erinnern_Wir_gestalten ofthe Center for Persecuted Arts and jointly announce the city of Solingen. As chairwoman of the Sponsors' Association, Sylvia Löhrmann will lead the entire process. Lord Mayor Tim Kurzbach takes over the patronage.

Topic and target group

This year's competition theme is “Freedom — Being different without fear: What does that mean for you? ”. The competition is aimed at students from all upper and lower secondary schools in Solingen and cordially invites them to address the topic and develop contributions as a result.

Children and adolescents grow up in diverse situations, have complex identities and are shaped by different affiliations. The competition therefore focuses on the question of how young people experience their heterogeneity in everyday life.

How are Jewish or Muslim children and young people doing? What experiences do young BIPoCs have? How do queer young people feel? Do young people who belong to the majority society have an advantage?

As the competition title shows, the aspect of freedom plays a central role in this: To what extent do children and young people today still dare to develop freely, free from concerns about discrimination, exclusion or even discrimination? After all, the opportunities for everyone within society to develop freely reflect the state of our democracy.

Students should also reflect on their own role. This is intended to raise awareness that everyone has responsibility in a democracy.

The understanding of diversity as an asset can thus be strengthened, revealing the inestimable value of being able to be different — within and outside of school — without fear.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
