Am January 17 celebrated the Center for Persecuted Arts That 10th anniversary its creation. Prof. Dr. Norbert Lammert, former President of the Bundestag, who had already given the opening speech ten years ago, was invited as the keynote speaker, but unfortunately a broken leg prevented his participation. Spontaneously jumped Dr. Gabriele Uelsberg with a look back at the founding period of the museum. The former chairwoman of the Citizens' Foundation for Persecuted Arts remembered the complicated negotiations, but also the impressive commitment of the various actors who cared about the centre and who finally brought it to life with a lot of passion and have shaped it ever since.

The subsequent panel discussion with founding director Dr. Rolf Yessevich, Lord Mayor Tim Kurzbach, LVR representative Falk Dornseifer as chairman of the shareholders' meeting, Sylvia Löhrmann as chairwoman of the Sponsors' Association but also as Commissioner of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia for the fight against anti-Semitism, for Jewish life and the culture of remembrance, and Hajo Jahn, chairman of the Else-Lasker-Schüler-Gesellschaft, made under the moderation of Dorothee Daun and Dr. Jürgen Kaumkötter highlights the various perspectives on the history, role and future of the house as a place of remembrance, education and cultural exchange.

The violinist Liv Migdal enthralled together with the pianist Fil Liotis with works by Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber and Paul Ben-Haim. At the end of the event, they played the premiere of the piece Petite Balade by the Israeli composer Ben-Haim and received a standing ovation for this. At the subsequent reception with buffet, the approximately 160 guests were also able to share their memories and wishes for the future of the museum.
