Solingen schools are exhibiting in the museum

Since 2025, the Solingen Art Museum, in collaboration with the Center for Persecuted Arts, has offered schools in Solingen the opportunity to present artwork created in class at the museum. This year, the exhibition "Klasse Kunst!" will be on display from November 6 to 15, 2026. The Center for Persecuted Arts organizes the awarding of the audience prizes, which are sponsored by the Solingen municipal utilities.

The motto of the exhibition "Klasse Kunst!" is intentionally open to avoid restrictive thematic guidelines. Quality, ambition, and originality are what we seek. The form of presentation is left to the schools, and we look forward to receiving a variety of suggestions. However, participating groups should agree on a common theme to ensure a unified presentation of their work.

Classes, courses, working groups, or project groups from grade 8 and up can apply to participate in the competition. All media are permitted when presenting the theme: painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, video, or performance.

The exhibition takes place in the rooms of the museum's temporary exhibition space.

A jury and the audience make the selection to financially reward the best and most popular contributions:

Christel-Fervers Jury Prizes:

1st prize: 500€, 2nd prize: 300€, 3rd prize: 200€

Stadtwerke Solingen Audience Awards:

1st prize: 500€, 2nd prize: 300€, 3rd prize: 200€

Per group (please no applications from individual students), please submit a digital application folder in PDF format by October 9, 2026 to present the project. Please use the registration form. A jury will decide whether to participate.
